Since a young girl I have been strangely obsessed with what I wear. I have loved clothes, a passion I believe that I inherited from my mother. It was so innate in me, I couldn't understand why my peers were not as concerned about their clothes as me. I won best dressed in 8th grade and felt validated. I didn't realize style was my art. In 2010 I started a personal style blog and soon started connecting with others like myself. I felt at home and inspired by the blogging community. Finally, people that cared about clothes as much as me. Since then I have been blogging and selling vintage clothing on Etsy. I love every moment of it. The thrill of finding a new great piece, the thrill of selling it, the thrill of styling it, and wearing it. I have experience teaching ESL and have thought about going to grad school but I'm more passionate about style. I know fashion is where I belong and I would love this chance. Style is a challenge, style is an art, now that I'm pregnant, it is more of a challenge and I love it. With the right pieces, any "body" can be dressed well.
My outfit was inspired by vintage looks that have now come into style once again and are available at the mall. I found this awesome red floppy hat from American Apparel and immediately thought of Beyonce in her "Countdown" video where she is pregnant and wearing a striped floppy hat. Also at American Apparel I found this cat print button up blouse with a pussy bow. I paired it with a skirt from Cotton On with great peplum detail and stretch because I'm 7.5 months pregnant and growing. To accessorize, I got some big gold tone hoops from Claires and a couple of chunky rings from Forever 21. Dressing my pregnant and changing body has been a challenge through out the months, but a fun one. Being pregnant definitely doesn't mean you have to lose all sense of style. It actually gives you more opportunity to be creative and experiment with different looks.

I'm most inspired by other bloggers. Seeing someone wear something or pair something in a way I never imagined. Blogging is great cause you get to see real people out there styling themselves. Models have help. But bloggers are real people. I'm also inspired by finding a great piece at the mall or at a thrift store. Right away my mind starts having "visions" or ways I start imagining wearing it. It sounds crazy but it's true.
